Translation Package

What Your Certified Passport Translation Includes

A certified passport translation is a precise, field-by-field rendering of the original document, accompanied by a signed attestation of accuracy.

We translate every relevant field — surname and given names, nationality, date and place of birth, passport number, date of issue, date of expiry, issuing authority, and any additional entries or endorsements. Biographical data pages and, where relevant, visa pages are translated as specified by the client.

The signed certification statement includes

  • Translator's declaration of accuracy
  • Name and qualifications
  • Language pair
  • Date
  • Signature

Our translations are prepared to meet the requirements of immigration authorities and consulates. Acceptance is at the discretion of each receiving body.

Santiago Pedraza, University of Malta, works exclusively between English and Spanish.

Important: for security reasons, we translate the information you provide us; we never retain copies of identity documents beyond the period needed to complete your translation.

Common Use Cases

When Is a Certified Passport Translation Required?

Visa & Immigration Applications

Consulates and immigration authorities may require certified translations of foreign-language passports — including biographical data pages — when processing visa or residency applications. Requirements vary by country and application type.

Identity Verification & Government Filings

Government agencies and administrative bodies may require a certified passport translation to verify an applicant's identity when the original document is in a language they cannot process.

Banking, Legal & Notarial Processes

Financial institutions and notaries may require a certified translation of a foreign passport as part of due-diligence or identity-verification procedures.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pages of a passport need to be translated?

In most cases, the biographical data page — the page containing your photograph, name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, and dates of issue and expiry — is the page that needs to be translated. Some applications also require translations of visa pages. Check the specific requirements of the authority you are submitting to.

Is it safe to send a copy of my passport for translation?

We understand that identity documents are sensitive. We use your document only to complete the translation and do not retain copies beyond the period necessary to do so. If you have specific confidentiality concerns, please contact us to discuss how we handle your document.

Do you translate the machine-readable zone (MRZ) on passports?

We translate the human-readable information fields as they appear on the document. If you specifically require the machine-readable zone to be reproduced, please mention this when you send us your document so we can include it in the translation.
